Since living in St. Albert (1995) Jacquie has been actively involved in the community.   Jacquie and her husband Dean moved from BC and were drawn to St. Albert because of the education system, the green space and trail systems, access to programs, and of course the strong community spirit.

At the University of British Columbia, Jacquie received a Bachelor of Physical Education with an English minor.

The quality of life brought us to St. Albert and we have never looked back.

Jacquie has served on a number of boards since living in St. Albert including the St. Albert Catholic School Board (2001-13), the St. Albert Economic Development Advisory Board, the Library Board, Sturgeon Hospital Foundation, and Rotary.  Raising four active children meant volunteering at school, sports and music acitivies.

Outside of St. Albert, Jacquie has served at the provincial level as both Vice-President an President of the Alberta School Boards Association (2007-13) advocating on behalf of 61 provinicial school boards, representing over 600,000 students.   Jacquie’s passion for children and youth, also gave her the opportunity to sit on the Children & Family Services Authority (CFSA) Board for Edmonton and Area (2007-13) serving vulnerable youth through the ministry of Human Services.

Currently Jacquie is the Executive Director of the Alberta School Councils’ Association, which is an organization that supports giving voice to parents through school councils in the K-12 Education system across Alberta.   She continues to work with government and advocates on behalf of parents and students.  This role provides her the  opportunity to sit on a number of external provincial committees dedicated to edcucation and cross ministry work.

Jacquie has a reputation of being pragmatic, forward thinking, honest and diplomatic.  She would be very honoured to serve the people of St. Albert in the capacity of city councillor.
